If the temperatures remain below 32 degrees for most of the night, the water will start to freeze in the backflow and pipes above ground.Here are three easy steps to help prevent you backflow from freezing.
1. Find your backflow outside
2. Wrap a towel or small blanket around the backflow.
3. Cover the towel or blanket with a black garbage bag. Use duck tape to secure the bag so it will not blow off.
NOTE : THIS WILL NOT KEEP YOUR BACKFLOW FROM FREEZING ON THE WINTER. THE WRAP IS ONLY TO PREVENT THE BACKFLOW FROM FREEZING WHILE THE TEMPERATURES DIP BELOW FREEZING AT NIGHT.
